In a press conference held by the Environment Public Authority to address the State of Kuwait’s rank in the global environmental performance index, Sheikh Abdullah Ahmed Al-Hamoud stated that the Stated that Kuwait has exceled in many environmental fields, such as water resources management, coastal and marine environment pollution, waste management, air pollution, desertification, biodiversity, and many other pressing issues.
His excellency also stated that the environmental report issued by Yale University in last March mentioned that out of 180 countries, the State of Kuwait’s rank was 113 in 2016; a number that was changed to 61 in 2018 demonstrating the serious and continuous measure the states takes to the protect the environment.
Furthermore, his excellency pointed that these statistics meant that the State of Kuwait’s rank in environment protection among GCC countries rose for fifth in 2016 to second in 2018.
